Milwaukee, WI, March 27, 2019–Milwaukee craft brewer Third Space Brewing has been named one of the 50 fastest growing small and independent craft breweries of 2018 by the Brewers Association.
Third Space Brewing was ranked 34th on the nation-wide list compiled by the Brewers Association, a not-for-profit association dedicated to small and independent American brewers. Third Space was the only Milwaukee brewery to be included on the list and one of just three Wisconsin breweries to make the cut.
Third Space Brewing, which opened in September 2016, more than doubled production between 2017 and 2018 from 2,195 barrels to 5,300 barrels as of Dec. 31, 2018. Third Space achieved this rapid growth in sales within a limited territory that included only the seven counties of southeastern Wisconsin. The company recently expanded into the Madison and southwestern Wisconsin markets, which it expects will drive sales growth in 2019.
“This recognition belongs to the entire Third Space team; they work hard every day to ensure we produce and deliver high-quality beers that our customers enjoy and appreciate,” Co-founder and Head Brewmaster Kevin Wright pointed out. “Another crucial part of our growth strategy is our partnership with Beechwood Sales and Service, who has been our exclusive distributor since the beginning of 2018.” In the company’s two and a half years of operation it has grown from a team made up of simply the two founders to a team of ten full time and ten part time employees.
“We are also fortunate to have outstanding partners throughout southern Wisconsin including the bars and restaurants that pour our products and the many establishments that stock our canned beers,” Co-founder Andy Gehl observed. “We are especially appreciative of our many loyal customers, who have embraced our beers literally since the day we opened our doors.”
Small and independent brewers from across 27 states were included in the 2018 list, according to the Brewers Association, headquartered in Boulder, CO. Growth was measured based on production at each of the brewers’ facilities. To be considered, the brewery must have opened by Dec. 31, 2016 or earlier, and must have reported 2018 production to the Brewers Association’s annual beer industry production survey.
Third Space Brewing, 1505 West St. Paul Avenue, markets a wide range of award-winning beers on tap and in cans. Third Space offers a family-friendly taproom and beer garden on site, and its beers can be found on tap in bars and restaurants and in cans at retailers throughout southern Wisconsin.
