Third Space Brewing plans to launch a new collaboration beer for a good cause in October. One in Four IPA aims to raise funds to help combat and boost awareness of domestic violence.
The brewery will share the label art and beer recipe with other craft brewers who are willing to make the beer and donate profits to fight domestic violence.
“We chose this staggering statistic for the name of the beer to help start conversations within local communities about the prevalence of domestic violence,” says Third Space’s Lead Brewer Matt Cisz, who spearheaded the One In Four project.
“When you lose a family member to domestic violence, all you want to do is find a way to prevent it from happening to anyone else.”
Cisz’s own family has been touched by the tragedy of domestic violence and he is the driving force behind the new brew. The name of the beer refers to the fact that, according to the CDC, one in four women has experienced domestic violence in some form.
“Our goal is to draw attention to the prevalence of domestic violence in our communities and to raise funds for prevention,” he says.
