Third Space Brewing wins silver and bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival

The Great American Beer Festival in Denver — the largest commercial beer competition in the world — awarded 306 medals for brewing excellence.

Cheers to Milwaukee’s Third Space Brewing for winning two of them.

The brewery at 1505 W. St. Paul Ave. brought home a silver metal for Unite the Clans Scottish-Style Rye Ale in the Rye Beer category. Last year, Unite the Clans won the gold.

Third Space also won a bronze medal for its Unbridled Enthusiasm (a beer but also a description of the brewery’s approach to beer). Unbridled won in the Imperial India Pale Ale category. IPAs are among the most competitive categories at the festival.

“We are overjoyed to have our beers recognized with the most prestigious award in the craft beer world yet again,” co-founder Andy Gehl said in announcing the award.

Two other Wisconsin breweries also brought home medals: Tribute Brewing in Eagle River won gold in the chili beer category for its White Legs Jalapeno Wheat beer, and Point Brewery in Stevens Point won silver for its Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale.

Third Space recently celebrated its second anniversary.
